Struggling to Balance Faith and Scientific Responsibility
I'm a 45-year-old environmental scientist, and my work often requires me to make decisions that affect ecosystems and communities. I feel a deep responsibility to uphold my ethical obligations, yet I often find myself wrestling with how my faith informs these choices. I want to be a good steward of God's creation, but sometimes the pressures of my job make me feel disconnected from God. I’m asking for prayer to help me integrate my faith into my professional life and find the courage to make decisions that honor both science and God.

Dear Michael, it's heartening to see someone with a deep sense of stewardship and responsibility towards both the environment and their faith. Balance can indeed be challenging when you’re navigating ethical dilemmas in your profession. Remember that God calls us to be stewards of His creation—'The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof' (Psalms 24:1). This means that every decision you make is an opportunity to reflect His love and care for the world. In your work, seek wisdom and guidance from above, for 'If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him' (James 1:5). Trust that God will guide your heart and mind in your decisions. As you integrate your faith into your work, may you feel His presence leading you. I will keep you in my prayers as you strive to honor God in your vital role as a steward of creation.
