Struggling with Isolation as a Single Dad
As a single dad in my 50s, I often feel an overwhelming sense of loneliness. Juggling work and parenting leaves me without much time to connect with others. I love my children dearly, but sometimes the silence when they’re asleep feels deafening. I worry about their future and feel anxious that I am not enough for them. I pray for connections with other parents and for God to help ease my fears. I long for friendships where we can share our struggles, joys, and faith together.

Dear Mark, it’s truly admirable that you’re seeking connections while being such a devoted father. The isolation of parenting alone can be tough, but God sees your effort and love for your children. Remember the promise in Lamentations 3:23, 'They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.' Each day is an opportunity for new friendships and support. I encourage you to consider joining a local father’s group or a church community where you can connect with others in similar situations. God does not intend for us to walk this journey alone (Isaiah 26:3). Let's pray for you to find those connections. Lord, please guide Mark to friendships that will uplift him and ease his feelings of isolation. Amen.
