Thankful for Protection: A Family's Tornado Testimony
Pastor Maria, I’m writing to share my immense gratitude. My family was spared from the tornado that struck our neighborhood, and it feels surreal. We were in the basement as it roared overhead, and it was terrifying. I can still hear the sound of destruction. Despite our fear, I can't help but feel overwhelming thankfulness that we are safe. I know God’s hand was upon us. Yet, I feel so helpless thinking of our neighbors who are suffering. Please pray for us to have the strength to assist them, and for healing for our entire community. Thank you for your prayers.
Pastor's Response
Pastor Daniel Park
Associate Pastor, Covenant Presbyterian Church
Dear John, your testimony of gratitude amidst such fear is powerful and poignant. God’s protection over you and your family is indeed a manifestation of His love, as we see in Psalms 9:1, where it says, 'I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.' Your experience in the basement during the storm must have been harrowing, yet your acknowledgment of God’s hand at work is a beautiful reminder of His faithfulness. As you think about your neighbors, remember that we are all called to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Ephesians 5:20 encourages us to give thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I encourage you to reach out and offer your assistance, however small it may seem. You are a light in their darkness. Let's pray: Heavenly Father, bless John and his family as they navigate their gratitude and desire to help their neighbors. Amen.
