A Caregiver's Silent Struggles During a Long Journey

I have been caring for my mother who has Parkinson’s disease for the past two years, and I feel like I am losing myself in the process. The emotional exhaustion is hard to describe; some days I just want to cry but feel like I have to be strong for her. I often feel isolated, as friends don't fully understand what I am going through. I pray for the strength to keep going and the emotional support I need to help both myself and my mother. Please pray that I can find joy in the small moments with her and that God would lift my spirit when I am feeling low.

Dear Sarah, thank you for allowing me to pray with you during this challenging time. Your feelings of exhaustion and isolation are valid, and it’s clear that your heart is full of love for your mother. God understands your struggle, and He has promised to heal the brokenhearted (Psalms 147:3). Don't hesitate to lean on Him during your quiet moments of despair. Our Savior invites us to cast our cares upon Him (Philippians 4:6-7), promising peace that surpasses all understanding. It’s essential to seek community and support, even if it's just to share your burdens. I will pray that God restores your spirit and allows you to find joy and comfort in the small moments with your mother. May He fill you with His peace and surround you with understanding friends who can walk with you through this journey.
