A Mother's Burden of Anxiety for Her Daughter's Future
I am a 45-year-old single mother, and I am feeling overwhelmed with anxiety about my daughter’s future. She is about to take her college entrance exams, and I worry constantly about the pressures she faces. I fear that the weight of expectations will be too much for her, and I dread the possibility of her being crushed by the fear of failure. I love her dearly, and I want her to succeed, but I also want her to find peace and joy in the process. I ask for prayer not only for her confidence and clarity but also for me to find peace in trusting that God has a plan for both of our lives.

Dear Catherine, as a mother, your heart is naturally inclined to worry about your child's future, but I encourage you to find solace in God's promises. He tells us in Lamentations 3:22-23 that His mercies are new every morning, giving us hope for each day. Encourage your daughter to find her strength in Christ, as Philippians 4:13 reminds us, 'I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.' Your love and support are vital, but remember that ultimately, God has a perfect plan for her life, as Jeremiah 29:11 reassures us, 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.' Pray together and invite God into this journey to instill confidence in her heart, knowing He is in control. Let's pray for both of you, for peace, guidance, and trust in the Lord's plan.
