A Retired Couple's Worries Over Relocation
My name is Harold, and my wife, Margaret, and I are retired and looking forward to enjoying our golden years. However, we recently learned that our retirement community is planning to relocate due to financial issues. The thought of leaving our friends and the familiar environment we’ve settled into is distressing. We have built relationships here, and the thought of starting over is daunting at our age. We are praying for guidance—whether to move with the community or find a new place to settle down. We ask for prayer that God would give us peace and wisdom in this season of our lives as we navigate these changes.

Dear Harold, it is understandable to feel anxious about such significant changes in your life, especially during a time meant for rest and enjoyment. God sees your concerns, and I want to encourage you with His promises. In 1 Timothy 6:6, we read, 'But godliness with contentment is great gain.' Your contentment is rooted in the relationships you have built, and I believe God will honor that. Turning to Him in prayer is always the right choice, as promised in Philippians 4:19: 'But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.' Trust that He will provide for your needs, both physically and emotionally, during this transition. Remember to lean on your faith, and seek counsel from your community and loved ones. You are not alone in this journey. I will pray for you both to feel His guiding hand and find peace in your hearts. Amen.
