Anxiety About Meeting Performance Expectations
I’m Sarah, and I am feeling immense pressure at my job. As a project manager, I am constantly evaluated based on my team's performance, and lately, I’ve been struggling to keep everything on track. The fear of disappointing my boss and team consumes my thoughts, and I find myself second-guessing my decisions. Some days, I can’t even focus on my tasks because my anxiety is so overwhelming. I’ve been praying, but I still feel lost and anxious about how to meet everyone’s expectations. I’m reaching out to ask for prayer that I can find clarity in my work and trust that I am doing my best, even when things get tough.

Dear Sarah, thank you for courageously opening up about your struggles. It is understandable to feel pressured in a demanding role. Remember that you are not defined by your job performance, but rather by who you are in Christ. In Romans 8:15, we learn that we have not received a spirit of fear, but the Spirit of God, who gives us confidence and assurance. Your value is not measured by the outcomes of your projects, but by God’s love for you. Philippians 4:6 reminds us not to be anxious about anything but to bring our concerns before God through prayer. Trust that He is with you, guiding you through your responsibilities. When you feel overwhelmed, turn to Matthew 6:34, which tells us not to worry about tomorrow. Focus on today’s tasks, and let God carry your burdens. Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, I ask that you ease Sarah's anxiety and grant her peace in her work. Help her to trust in your guidance and to find joy in her efforts. In Jesus' name, Amen.
